Yarn Letters Craft
My friend Sheri and I have this perfect trade off!
See, she is brilliant in many ways, but especially in Photoshop! This girl was a LIFESAVER for my quickly planned wedding! It was like having my own design assistant, make up artist, tech support, and calming therapist all in one...
which is pretty necessary when you're planning a wedding in 11 weeks!
Check out our beautiful wedding invitations she designed:

Gorgeous right?!
The trade off comes in because she has NO desire to do handmade crafts... which is something I would literally do all day if I had the time! So when Sheri showed me pictures from Pinterest of this Christmas shelf decor, I knew it would be an easy & fun project!
So we went to Michael's.... a place where the two of us can get lost for hours.
We picked up these two items for the project!
I made my cut plans with Sharpie. (I suggest using a light colored one.)
Then took a knife and cut out my letters! A box cutter would probably work better but that was locked up in the shed so I improvised with one of Husband's knives.
As you'll see below, the edges DO NOT have to be perfectly smooth.
The yarn will fill in the jagged spots.
Lastly! Get to wrapping! The yarn sticks in place pretty well on the Styrofoam. Just to get started though I used a small pin to hold the yarn end in place. I found that what worked best on the ends was to pin on double sided sticky tape and then wrap it spiraling out until I got the look I wanted.
I liked the layered/textured look but you could also be more precise in wrapping if you wanted the clean/even look!
Hope you enjoy!
Send me some links to your favorite Christmas craft this year!
